Do I need my ID to use the library?

UC Students, Faculty and Staff
A valid photo ID (UC ID Bearcat Card or Driver's License or State/Federal Issued ID) is required for all library transactions (borrowing materials, equipment, etc.). A UC ID or a valid photo ID may be requested at any time to verify age, status, or affiliation.
Community Users
Community borrowers and patrons with affiliated institutions (such as OhioLINK or SearchOhio) must present their institution's ID in order to borrow materials. Learn more about Community User borrowing priviledges on the Borrow Materials page.
