What are course reserves? Will the library have my course textbook?

Answer

Faculty members place items on reserve as part of their course materials to ensure large numbers of students can use a limited number of resources. Reserves are physical items such as books or media (traditional reserves) held at the library. Your instructor should notify you if any of your class materials are on Reserve in the Library.

Find Reserves

You can search for materials in two ways:

  1. Search by Course
  2. Search by Professor

Loan Periods

Loan periods range from 4 hours to 3 days depending on the library location.

Borrowing Reserves

Students should request the textbook at the library information desk. A valid Bearcat Card or photo ID is required to check out a textbook.
