How do I find a book or E-book?

Answer

Using the Books tab on the search box of the library homepage, search the library catalog to find print and electronic books (ebooks) from all UC libraries. Searches can also be expanded to find titles beyond UC using SearchOhio (for public library collections) and OhioLINK (for collections at other Ohio college and universities). The catalog also includes other types of materials such as videos, music scores, kits, etc.

Enter Search Terms: You can enter keywords, the author's name, a specific title or subject.

Search Results: Here are the results of our search, using the example, "anime television shows." A few things to note:

  • Our search terms appear in the Keyword field
  • Click on the title to learn more about each item (ex: location of the book)
  • Titles that include [electronic resource] indicate e-books that can be accessed and read online
  • The publication dates list the most recently published items at the top of the list

Modifying Your Search (Advanced Searching): Click Modify Search to use the advanced search screen to limit your search. View Tips for using the UC Libraries Catalog to learn more.

  • Use the tabs to search by specific information (ex: ISBN or Call Number)
  • Build your search by adding an author or title (if known)
  • Limit your results by adjusting any of these filters such as library location (Langsam or UC Clermont), type of material (book or music score), etc.
