How can I find the permalink in OneSearch?

Permalinks provide a stable way to save library resources for the future.

Answer

Note: Your browser’s URL is stable in OneSearch, but tools are also available within to locate the permalink.

You can use the permalink tool from the search results page or from the item's record. In both of these cases, once the Permalink icon is clicked, a permanent URL will appear that you can copy and share:

Link preview with a button to "Copy the permalink to clipboard"

From the search results

  1. Conduct a search. From your search results page, you can click on the three dots next to a title
Select the three dots for "Show action options"
  2. This opens a pop-up window with a permalink option:
Item's pop box with possible action listed, including permalink.

From the item

  1. Select the item of interest's title to view its record.
    Select the title in OneSearch

  1. Under Send to, select Permalink.
Permalink is an option under "Send to" in the item

QR Code Tip

Note: If you’d like to easily find the record on your phone to view later (e.g. to view the item’s call number to find on the library shelves), use the QR code tool.

  1. QR is an option under "Send to" in the item
